This weekend Eden spent some special time with her Grandma and Papa Rose. Grandma picked Eden up from school on Thursday night and they headed to the mountains for some fun. On Friday Eden helped grandma pick out some pumpkins to carve after Sunday dinner. Bronson came to join the fun and Eden was thrilled. She loves her cousins and Bronson is no exception. They have more of a love-hate relationship. They act like brother and sister. Some days they love each other and are so sweet and other days they have to be separated.
On Saturday, Sheila brought Eden down for her swim lesson and she was so excited to show Bronson all her skills. Bronson made sure to tell Eden everything she was doing wrong during her lessons. I was just laughing my head off. He was more than willing to show her how she should be doing her "scoops" and strokes. He then informed me that he is the greatest swimmer EVER! He may be small for his age but he definitely does NOT lack confidence.
After swim lesson Eden and I headed back to the cabin with Sheila and Dennis for some relaxing time....and so my husband could work on the basement. (He's a man on a mission and I don't want to break his motivation, so off I went). Eden loves going to the cabin with her grandma and papa. She rules the house! She can get her papa to get out of his chair every time with out fail. I love watching her with her papa. She loves him so much and it melts my heart to see her climb up on his lap and give him a big hug and kiss. She's the only grand-daughter and she knows how to work it!
On Sunday the rest of the gang (minus Shane & Jody's Family...we missed you!) came up for Sunday dinner and to carve some pumpkins. Eden of course had yet another white pumpkins and she wanted to make a ghost...(score! that's an easy one). I drew three circles and told her to copy the lines. She did NOT want my help and all and so I just stepped back and grabbed the camera.
I love that whenever I grab the camera, this is her automatic response...such a good girl. I have trained her well. I helped her cut open the top but then made her pull out all the guts...she was not impressed. Her and Bronson did not want to put their hands in that slippery mess.
Eden kept looking at my and say "YUCK mama!" with the most disgusted look on her face. Bronson was almost in tears because he didn't want his hands getting messing....
While Eden was carving her pumpkin she kept grunting. It was hard work. It took some effort to get that little knife to cut that pumpkin. Bronson kept looking over at Eden and saying "Oh! Eden you are off track!" He was making sure she followed the lines...love that silly boy!
And in true Chad Rose fashion, the power tools were busted out to help the process along...
After the pumpkins were carved, we headed outside to take some pictures. Eden wanted to take the pictures in a pile of leaves and I couldn't agree with her more. Her and Bronson played in the leaves and had themselves a right nice time. I think this is the first year that Eden has really gotten the whole "jump in leaves" idea and she LOVED it. Bronson and Eden also spent time burying each other and throwing leaves at the big boys!
We had to force the older boys to pose for this picture, but I think it turned out great. Eden loves her big boy cousins and they are all so sweet to her. She's one lucky girl!!
