Duck...Duck...Boots!

This weekend Les has an ice fishing tournament and so Eden and I had the day to ourselves.  We started off by cleaning the house.  Eden LOVES to help me with the laundry.  It's probably her favorite chore.

Then we bundled up and went on a quest to find some birds/ducks to feed.  Eden is pretty much obsessed with the birds of flight.  Les told me about a place that is jammed packed with birds...well, it did not disappoint.  There were MASS amounts of birds/geese/ducks and goats...yes goats.  Eden was loving life.  She just kept squealing and clapping her hands.

We clearly did not bring enough bread.  I thought a slice or two would tide her over.  Well, we went through our bread in 1.2 seconds.  A man with his little boy was kind enough to split his loaf with us. I can't tell you how many birds were there.  It's was craziness.  Eden was having so much fun and when we ran out of bread she decided to feed them anything she could throw over the fence....like her glove...

Now we are minus a glove....There was no saving it.  Oh well, she had so much fun it was worth it. After our little adventure we stopped by my cousins house to pick up a sweet present my cousin got for Eden.  She works at The Children's Place and gets GREAT deals.  Well, we lucked out and she grabbed Eden some rain boots....All I can say is that Eden is in LOVE with her boots Nikki got her.  They are a little too big right now, but as soon as we got home she insisted (and by insisted, I mean she screamed BOOTS) until I put them on her.

I convinced her to take them off so she could take a bath, but you better believe she put them right back on as soon as she was dressed.

I've had to try a new tactic when taken Eden's picture.  Every time I tell her to say "cheese" she runs to the fridge in search of cheese...so that didn't work.  I now tell her to show me her teeth and this is what I get... it's a work in progress.

Well, it's cold outside and I wish this winter would go away cuz I'm running out of ideas and this little one needs to be entertained.  Any ideas on what keeps a 1 year old busy...I'm happy to listen!  Happy Weekend.

First Blood

This morning was a morning of first.  After I got Eden out of her crib and layed her on my bed to change her bum she wouldn't hold still so I could put on her diaper.  Finally, I told her to "Stop It Please".  To which I go the reply "STOP IT MAMA!".  What a joy she is!

Then to top it off, while Eden was watching Mickey Mouse as I got ready, the hotdog song came on, and as you know, she had to get up and dance.  Well, this lead to face plant straight on my foot board, which was followed by screaming and lots of blood.  Les came running in the room and she wanted NOTHING to do with him...

After she discovered the joy of an ice cube wrapped in a wash cloth for her "owie" she was off to the races.  I'm glad the first blood wasn't a major one and only required some mama love and an ice cube.

Whatcha doing Crazy?

I just wanted to throw up a few pictures of Eden and my mommy daughter date to the Living Planet Aquarium. She seriously loves this place.  She just runs from exhibit to exhibit and just gabbers the whole time.  We spent a lot of time with the penguins.  She would even push kids off the blocks so she could get a better look. I was slightly horrified but mostly proud that she's not afraid to get what she wants....(I may regret that statement)

She also thought the frogs were pretty cool.  They were just her height!

On Friday my father in law came down to watch Eden for the day.  The night before I got some things ready for him....when Les walked into the kitchen and said "Whatcha doing crazy?!"
What?  It's not normal to lay out everything you want your father in law to feed your child?

(yes those are measuring cups...) Doesn't everyone leave a detailed schedule of how your child's day will go down to the hour?  Doesn't everyone have a sheet of paper that states the proper portion sizes for a 1 year old?  (hence the measuring cups)

You may call it "crazy"...I call it ubber organized!

Today Les was fixing stuff around the house and Eden was having so much fun watching her dad work.  She thought he was so cool.  She was definitely daddy's helper today!

see how helpful she is?
I just want to end this post with some hilarious videos of Eden lately.  She is a crack up.
First, for those of you who don't know.  Eden is OBSESSED with Mickey Mouse.  When the hotdog song comes on she has to stand up and dance.

Here she is entertaining us while we watch TV tonight

Monday Mommy Date

On Monday Eden and I went to the Living Planet Aquarium.  She ABSOLUTELY loves that place.  She just likes to roam around and look at fish.  Her favorite part is touching the sting rays.  She squeals every time.  Oh I heart her...

Back Into the Swing of Things...

This past week hasn't been my best.  I just got back from a 2 week long break, started school again AND lost all my pictures.  I've been a little depressed in the blogging department.  I started taking MASS amounts of pictures to make up for all the ones I lost, so the Rose household has been full of flashes.

I hate the winter, especially with a little one who needs to be kept entertained. We have been very creative on how to entertain Miss Eden.  Les pulled out all her stacking blocks, I grabbed the plastic flute and Eden grabbed her drum and we had a little jam session the other night.  Eden loved it and just kept giving Les and I lots of kisses.  I think it was the first time the both of us just sat down and played with her together with our undivided attention and she was LOVIN' it.  We plan to do it way more often.

Eden loves to help Les shovel the walk.  When he goes outside, I think it's the only time she calls for "Da Da" and when she gets really upset, she bangs on the garage door and yells "Mmm Da Da" (translation: My Dada).  I usually jump on this opportunity  to let them spent some Daddy Daughter time, but it usually ends with a screaming child and some REALLY cold hands that need to be run under warm water cuz she felt into the snow and couldn't get up and dad was too busy shoveling to realize what happened until it's too late and she's DONE!

Have I mentioned that Eden loves to take a bath?  Like literally, can't wait to get in the tub.  As soon as we walk in the door from day care she starts to take off any clothes she can and makes a bee line for the bathroom.  All the while screaming "BA! BA!" and signing bath (there's a lot of screaming at my house) .  Yesterday we got home and Les was actually taking a bath (I don't ask) and Eden yelled at him.  She marched into the bathroom, grabbed his hand and told him "OUT!".  It was her bath time and he was NOT allowed. Once she manages to get her clothes off it's party time and she's in heaven.

She recently learned to do this in the tub and now I have to watch her EXTRA close.  Sometimes she forgets to keep her head up and so she chokes on a mouth full of water, but she loves to splash by kicking her feet.  It's way more effective. When it's time to get out...I usually have a fight on my hands. If I ask her "Eden, you ready to get out?"  She shakes her head and says "No, No, No."  Usually I have to drain the water and let her sit in protest for a couple of minutes until she's too cold not to get out....

Pretty much it's just the normal day to day stuff at the Rose household but Eden sure is getting big!  Could she be any cuter?!

Love her face!

Such a Sad Day

Today my world crashed....my external hard drive that is.  On that hard drive was ALL my pictures...not backed up....and they are lost.  All of them. I want to cry.  I have no pictures of Baby Eden...I have no pictures of Baby Dixie....I have no pictures....only those on my blog and facebook and I want to cry (again).  If you have pictures of Eden (mostly to my family)  Please email them, put them on a disk...ANYTHING so that I will have pictures. I'm off to subscribe to an online backup system and buy myself a new hard drive.
