Well, it took 2 years to get to this point but with school right around the corner, I decided it was time to get my big girl a haircut. She was VERY excited. We went one day after Gymboree to Cookie Cutters and she was stoked. As soon as we walked in, she ran to the car and said "My do it!" She was rearing to go.
I told her she had to hold really still, but she was too concerned with driving the car, beeping the horn and watching the TV in front of her. Those Cookie Cutters know how to entertain.
Eden was really good. She wasn't so sure about getting her hair blown dry. She kept saying "I not like it!" but she didn't want to get out of the car so she put up with it. Once she was all done the lady put glitter hairspray in her hair and told her she was all done. Eden kindly (I use this word loosely) told her "I not done! I driving a car!" The lady tried her magic to get Eden of the chair but she wasn't going to budge. Finally, I told her she gets a balloon and POP! she was out of that chair faster than I could offer to help.
We didn't cut much but we gave it some shape. She's growing up faster than I can catch up. I love my little girl and all the sass that come with it!

Playdates, Swimming, Discovery and MORE!
We have been out and about each day. We have gone on play dates almost every day. My friend Amanda has three adorable boys whom Eden LOVES! She always wants to play with "my boys, baby Logan and don't forget Manda".
We are regulars at the city pool and have been spending most of your days catching the rays...
When we aren't being beach bums (or should I say pool bums) we are out having fun. Amanda and I took the kids to Discovery one day and let the wild animals run free...
Eden LOVES this place. She just kept telling me "My happy" all day long. She ran after the boys, fought for toys and had herself a right nice time.
Eden was ALL over the kitchen area this year...nevermind the water like last year. She was focused on getting the house clean that was constantly being ripped apart by kids.
She also loved the giant horse this year. Last year she would not go near it. This year she wouldn't get off of it. I literally had to pry her off kicking and screaming. Discovery had a new exhibit for the summer called "PLAY". It was more for the older kids but Eden just ran around after the boys smiling and squealing. She was in heaven.
Once we arrived at our destination, we grabbed our bag of stale old hot dog buns and headed to visit grandma at WSU. We met our other best friend Bennett and served the WSU duck some lunch.
Like that outfit? Oh yeah, we have entered the stage of "My do it!" and she always wants to dress herself. This might be my favorite outfit thus far.
When we aren't laying by the pool, hanging out with friends or going on lunch dates, we are supporting our amazing Pa and all that he does to uphold the Hutchison Moto "We are Awesome"
In his ripe young age of 51, he booked it up Little Cottonwood Canyon on his bike for the Snowbird Climb. The goal of most riders is to finish in under an hour. My dad did it in 61 minutes. He shaved 3 minutes off this time from last year but was bummed he didn't break the hour mark. Next year Pa, next year!
When we aren't doing ANY of the things I mentioned, we are getting ready for a BIG event that's only weeks away....can you guess? Well, you'll just have to stay tuned, but let's just say...late nights have been had.

They also had this section of what, looked to me, like giant foosball players with voice alternaters...I dunno, but the kids loved screaming into them and sounding like robots.
Of course we couldn't leave without climbing all over the Life Flight Helicopter.
Another day, Eden and I had a date. We went to lunch and took a train ride to Ogden. We were running late and we hadn't eating lunch and so we ran to McDonald's and jumped on the train just in the nick of time.
we enjoyed the scenery and ate our lunch, while Eden pointed out every thing she could see...pausing only to pump her arm and shout "CHOO CHOO" loud enough for all travelers to hear.Once we arrived at our destination, we grabbed our bag of stale old hot dog buns and headed to visit grandma at WSU. Backyard Camping
I love summer because it means my days are filled with one thing....
this girl right here!
We have been keeping SUPER busy (hence the lack of blogging). I'm pretty sure every day we have something planning. We really wanted to go camping this summer but it always feel through, so Pa did the best he could and we did some good ol' fashioned backyard camping.
The kids were ecstatic. They could not wait to get inside that tent. Once it was set, they grabbed their gear and claimed there spots.
And what's camping if it doesn't involve fire and s'mores?
I love camping. I remember always going camping with my dad when I was younger. I want so badly for my kids to have those same memories. I love being outside surrounded by the great outdoors.
I love telling stories late into the night and cuddling up in my sleeping bag to keep warm (only to have it completely off of me when I wake up). I love the crisp morning air and sipping hot chocolate while waiting for breakfast to be made.
I love it all. Although we were only a few feet away from the comfort of a kitchen and flushing toilet, it was magical. After s'more and some late night fire roasted hot dogs, we settled into the tent for the night.
The kids wanted to tell stories and Brennen demanded we tell ONE princess story and the rest Transformer stories. I began my story of Princess Eden and Princess Ever trapped in a tall tower guarded by an evil dragon awaiting their rescue by Prince Brennen and Prince Bennett.. as the story unfolded (with the help of a lot of input) all were rescued and returned to the safety of King Pa's Castle. Once the story concluded, Brennen informed me that we better stick to ALL princess stories.
The kids then took turns telling stories but always deferred to me to finish. There were tales of brave knights fighting bears and entering the magic butterfly kingdom. There were adventures of magic dragon eggs and training them to fly. There were also epic battles of courage and strength. The tent was transformed into a magically gateway of imagination and pretend that you could almost taste.
As the fairy dust and dragon's breath fading away, we settled down with our favorite primary songs and each child took turns saying the family prayer. As kids were tucked in and kissed goodnight, my dad and I heard sleepy voices say "I love camping in Pa's yard" and "uh- HUH" confirmed by the rest and it made my heart smile.
