Silly Little Leprechaun!

Yesterday I woke up to a little girl patting me on the face saying "Mama! Mama! come look!!"  We rushed into her room and she showed me this!

The leprechaun had come!  Last night before she went to bed Eden placed two gold coins on top of the hat to lure the leprechaun inside, but he was too smart for us!  He even left her a note that said "Me took yer gold!"  then he used the latter to make his get away!
Next, Eden found the mess he made in the bathroom.
She just laughed and laughed.  He couldn't believe that he turned our toilet green!  When daddy went potty and washed the green away Eden cried.  She wanted it to be green all day long, luckily the leprechaun was still lurking in our house because some how the toilet turned green again...
After that, we wandered into the kitchen to see what we might find.  It turns out our 2nd trap failed as well, but this time the leprechaun left us a long note!  Eden took some time to read what it said...
Eden read the note as follows:
"Happy Birthday to Me!  I the leprechaun.  I love green. It's forty dollars 'o clock."
The note actually read: "Nice try!  You can't fool me.  You'll never get me gold, but I stole yours! Here's a wee present to say me thanks, but you NEVER catch me!"

As we searched around the kitchen for Leonard the Leprechaun (as he was called) we found some more mischief he caused.
like turning our milk green....
and drawing pictures on our door!  Then while I was making breakfast, Eden asked me to help her go potty.  When we got back that naughty leprechaun turned our breakfast green!!
good thing it still tasted good...

After spending most of the morning searching for that silly leprechaun without success, we decided we better get ready for the day.  Eden was confused and thought that if you wore green the leprechaun would pinch you, so it took some straightening out before I could convince her the opposite!
During the day while Eden was helping Dixie outside, the leprechaun decided to put some green glitter in Eden's hair.  When I saw I couldn't believe my eyes.  I rushed Eden to the bathroom to show her what he had done.  When she saw her hair she said "Oh, it's beautiful!  Thank you leprechaun!"
We ended the night on a high note!  We partied it up at the annual Corn Beef and Cabbage Party hosted by our favorite friends.  It was so much fun.
Now, can you see why I love this holiday?!

Dreams do Come True!

Last weekend baby girl's dreams came true!  Grandma Rose spoiled her and we headed down town for Disney on Ice Toy Story 3. Eden was so excited.  She talked about it for days!  Before the show even started, Eden was equipped with all the necessary gear.
Eden was way too busy watching all the kids with their toys and trying to decide which item next she'd talk her grandma into buying her to take a photo with her mama....
The show started out with a bang.  Eden was not expecting these two to come out!  But she was SO happy when they did.
The lights went dark and then it started... Eden was at full attention!  She would not take her eyes off the ice.
Every time the lights went dim...Eden was there to help light it back up!
All her favorite friends where there. When each of them came out she squealed in delight.  I wasn't sure who was more excited to see all the characters... Eden or the three 15 year old girls we were sitting next to.  I couldn't decide who's screams were louder.  They may have been having a contest with each other without my knowledge :)
Eden spent most of the show on Aunt Julie's lap.  Apparently, she way more fun than mom...
At intermission, Eden literally cried.  She didn't want them to leave.  I had to tell her that they needed to take a break, but they would be right back!  Eden took that opportunity to milk grandma for all she's worth!
The 2nd half started and movement ceased on our row.  It.was.awesome.  Eden and Bronson were glued to the dancing and singing.  Every time I looked over this is how I found her...
When Ken come out I thought Eden might faint...serious, she was like a little school girl.  She screamed KEN! at the top of her lungs.  When Barbie and Ken did their little duet, Eden just danced in her seat and clapped her hands.  It might have been her favorite part.
Lotso (or Huggy Bear as Eden called him) was NOT her favorite part.  She did not like him so close and I can't blame her.  He had creepy eyes and looked pure evil.
When the show ended Eden did not want to leave.  She wanted to be with Woody and the gang.  She kept telling me she wanted to "hold them"  and bring them home.  Even though she was sad it ended, she had a heck of a time! She told me it was her favorite day (she tends to have these quite often).
When we got home Eden ran to her dad to tell him all about it.  She even dressed him up in all her gear.  She has the best grandma ever!
Sheila is so good to her and I'm so happy we have this memory.  She has been talking about it for days.  She keeps saying, "Mom, member Woody and Jesse and BUZZ?!"  I've been wanting to take Eden to Disneyland but just haven't had the chance with school and all but I think this was the next best thing and DEFINITELY a tradition we will keep!

We're gonna get Ya!

We...and by we, I mean Eden and I, are not a fan of this cold weather.  It means we have to stay inside and find things to keep us entertained.  For example, like making up games that involve T-Bone, Wonda and of course Clifford.
"Mama, you be bad guy and try to get Clifford."
"Okay, give me Clifford."
"NOOO!  Just take his picture."
"(laughing) Oh Okay"

Even though this crappy weather has nothing to do with school, besides it being crappy too, it means little miss doesn't get to see her favorite people as much as she'd like.  She is really missing her cousins these days...
not picture Bennett and Jaxton (also favorite people)

We have been keeping busy though getting our house ready to catch that silly leprechaun who terrorizes our house each year.
Eden is very excited to catch him.  She talks about it non stop.  She likes to say:
"Mama, member that silly leprechaun who came to our house?"
"Ya! Are we going to catch him this year?!"
"YEAH!  I going to trap him and get all his presents"

Well, I can't disappoint, so I visited my favorite website (Pinterest) and found out how to make these....genius!
It's a leprechaun trap.  One for the kitchen and one for Eden's room.  The idea is this, you place something gold (like those gold chocolate coins) on top of the hat the night before St. Patrick's Day.  When the leprechaun comes, he'll want the gold and use the latter to get it, but little does he know that the top of the hat is just a piece of paper and once he steps on it, it will give way and he'll fall to the bottom of the hat unable to get out.  So when you wake up in the morning you'll have yourself a leprechaun!

Eden was very excited to help me make these.  We made a trip to Micheal's one Saturday and got to work fixing the house up real nice.
She's such a good helper who loves to sing while she works....Secretly, I love St. Patrick's Day...weird right?  Well, you'll just have to wait and see why...we might actually have ourselves a little leprechaun story to share with all of you!

Love Day

If you haven't noticed I haven't blogged in quite some time, which would mean...my life is out.of.control.  I feel like I never have a chance to breath, especially with school right now. I'm in the home stretch, just 5 short tests away from being done with school work for the rest of my life.  Can I get a hallelujah?! Anyway, let's catch up a bit shall we?

Valentines Day was pretty low key.  We didn't do much. I actually worked all night and so Eden and Les got to spend some time together and hang out.
It took a lot of restraint, but I only got Eden a small gift this year, but she would have thought I gave her the best gift ever (I'm an awesome mom like that....I know what my baby likes!)
Eden is obsessed with rubber duckies.  She loves them.  The bath is always FULL of duckies when bath time rolls around.  She was especially excited about this duck because it has hearts on it.  She told me "it's my FAVORITE!"  (she says that about all her duckies though).
I actually spoiled Les a little this year.  Recently we got rid of our direct TV and if you know my husband that is a BIG deal.  He loves his TV.  So for Valentine's I got him a smart blue-ray player.  It has WiFi on it so we can connect to the internet and watch TV.  I also got him a subscription to Hulu and Netflixs.... I know I'm amazing.
I love valentine's day (or any holiday for that matter) because I get to spoil the important people in my life and I have some of the best.  I am one lucky girl to get to spend my days with my little girl and a husband who lets me be my crazy self!
Eden with her family of ducks!
